Fuch critiques henry jenkins in 4 main points. Jenkins reduces participation to a cultural dimension which overlooks participartoy democracy, ownership, class, and capitalism: mistakes politics for a big part of popular culture. Jenkins neglects how participatory culture and social media can hinder human behavior and dialect: overlooks the role of money in the economy and deems user expoitation is fair as long as it produces social benefits. Don tapscott and anthony williams argues that social media is the new economic democracy where we all have chance for a lead role. Henry jenkins describes the root of content resembles subjects that are meaningful to the user: while traditionally media has brought culture upon us , the content we broadcast will commodify our interest to corporations.
