Kidneys= paired organs found on each side of the back portion of the abdominal cavity-> retroperitoneal: larger left kidney is located a bit higher than the right kidney. Each apex of renal pyramid-> 3 minor calyx (collecting tube for urine)-> merge-> 3 major calyces-> merge-> renal pelvis @ hilus-> ureter. Kidney functional unit= nephron-> cortical and juxtamedullary: renal corpuscle (glomerulus), a tubule, and a capillary network that originates from the small cortical arteries. Epididymis= collects sperm from testes and matures sperm. Vas deferens= transports sperm to the back of prostate and joins w/ seminal vesicle. Urethra= transports urine from bladder and where semen ejaculates from. Seminal vesicles= above the prostate and w/ it and the cowpers gland produces fluid for semen. *2 most common female cancers= cervical and breast. Ovaries= produce estrogen, progesterone, and ovas (female gametes)
