Youth aged 25 or younger with no homes, runaway/ throwaways, fostered, or engaged in street activities or peers. Attention has not been given to the services needs of street involved youth. Risk factors between street involved youth and homelessness are the same however the factors that trigger street involvement are different between youth and adults. Absolute homelessness - sleeping in places that are not habitable for humans. Relative homelessness - situations basic standards not met. Homelessness not stable, permanent housing, social barriers, lack of financial income, lack of affordable housing, physical challenges, racism and discrimination. Most dont chose to be homeless its experiances is negitive and stressful. Unsheltered, emergency sheltered, provisionally accommodated, risk of homelessness. Homelessness is fluid rather then static, homeless are hard to track. Help understand youth who are involved in street and develop services that meet their needs.
