Characteristics of classical art:
- Proportion and balance for sculptures and art
- Some people say that there was some sick math going on to make some
bitchin columns but that may not be true
- Sense of harmony although there is a lot of movement, the faces in the art
are peaceful and they are in calm poses
- Idealized naturalism more realistic than archaic art but it is more perfect
than real life

- Focused on explaining the fundamental nature of the universe: what is
matter made of
- Arrived in Athens in 5th C. BC hotspot for some fuckin philosophy brooooo
Focused on:
- defining/understanding moral goodness: what is truly valuable and
worthwhile?
- Formulating convincing arguments
- Philosophers have arguments for both sides to find the truth but this can
cause citizens to not believe in what they say
Diogenes of sinope (polis on the Black Sea)
