Craig"s office hours adjusted monday and wednesdays from 2 - 3. Axial age has brought new energy to religions. In greece (focus on athens) - socrates, plato and aristotle. Confucius - faced great violence in his culture (the warring states). He is considered part of the literati, the elite thinkers of the culture. He probably doesn"t view himself with that, he looks at the classics and the sages that provided them. Thinks we should demythologize but rely on the tradition of those who were before. He wrote analects, largely conversations with his disciples. His weapon against the warring states was virtue. He was known as a man of virtue. He doesn"t care about the dao ( a mythological construct in china with a creative power, seen as a path, journey itself, and ultimately the destination, the creative. It didn"t have enough teeth for confucius, virtue and how you lived your life had more teeth.
