World prosperity (the only good thing that someone can accomplish: the highest goal is heaven, heaven is viewed as an earthly place where people experience pleasure, no suffering or pain, householder ideal- Instruction on how to perform household rituals and more elaborate rituals that are performed by ritual priest. But in the end, you always come back again- many of my earthly births are unpleasant (i may be brought back as an animal like a cow, pig, etc. ) The idea of renunciation and liberation started to compete with the goal of heaven. The tension is that highest goal of moksha is inconsistent of what everyone else in society is required to do, we can"t have everyone pursuing moksha. Most people are focused on worldly prosperity yet, the highest goal is moksha.
