Statistic is a branch of sociology that focused on organizing, presenting and analyzing data from taking a bunch of numbers. Society likes to answer inequality using comparison; analyze how different aspects of the social world. Inferential vs descriptive: if research is about a population but is taken from a sample then it is a inferential statistics, if research is able to study everyone in a population then it is descriptive statistics. Hierarchy of science: from the top to the bottom: (comte ranking because this is how he thinks how much sociology relates to the rest of the sciences) Mathematics: explains the relationship between the natural sciences and the social sciences, late arrival of science of sociology on the scene, does this by arguing the relations among the sciences as hierarchical in analytical and historical. Analytically: the science form a hierarchy of (how much each science relate/depend to each other)
