Growth over the life span is multidirectional, multicontextual, multicultural, multidisciplinary and plastic. Developmental study is a science; depending on theories, data , analysis, critical thinking and sound methodology. The life span perspective: an approach to the study of human development that takes into account all phases of life, not just childhood or adulthood. Development is multicontextual: it takes place within many contexts, including physical surroundings and family configurations. Infancy: may lead to less nutrition foods stunting the brain development. Adolescence: neighbourhood where drugs and guns are available. Much diversity of languages and cultures across the country. Language has always been key to their sense of identity. Canada is officially a bilingual nation, and the official languages act states that all federal services must be available in both english and french.
