Plato"s repu(cid:271)li(cid:272: first in depth and systematic treatment of some of the most fundamental philosophical issues such as justice, power, and just society, composed of 10 books. Is it better to live a life of the just person or is it better to take advantage of others and be unjust: what makes a city just, extend the conclusion to individual men. The answer to the question constitutes plato"s metaphysics: metaphysics account before plato, the building blocks of reality is, water, fire, air, earth. Socrates and plato argued that reality could not be anything particular but must be in what all particular things share in their essence: get away from the particulars and toward an abstraction. Reality is, thus, the form of a thing (e. g. , the form of chairness, not a particular chair) The world of experience or appearance is: temporal, particular, contingent, and ever-changing. The real world or the intelligible world is: eternal, universal, necessary and unchanging.
