He first started (cid:271)y describing a just city and used the analogy to describe a just person. The guardians are supposed to be in charge of taking care of the city. When it comes to education of guardians, socrates is not comfortable. Metaphysics has to do with the answer to reality. Guardians education: socrates considers whether the poets, who enjoyed high status in the ancient greek society, could be good teachers. The answer to this question constitutes plato"s metaphysics. The building block of reality is water, fire, air, earth.
