In your post, you argue that patronage should not be a practice tolerated within the political system of canada as is it appointing people due to personal connections rather than through their qualifications. I do not think patronage is a corrupt practice because the political system would not operate if it was filled with unqualified and inexperienced workers. In fact, legislative oversight of political patronage is based on the grounds that the possibility of negative public exposure of appointment will deter egregious choices made by the cabinet. Therefore, patronage is beneficial for the public due to the pressure for a credible appointment system.
