Can"t be a leader in isolation, it requires a followership. Others try to identity personality traits: appearance, intelligence, adaptability, level of ambition, self- confidence, etc. Other focus on it as an act of behaviour: leaders do certain things that lead to this characterization, i. e. they set vision, strategically plan, motivation and inspiration of individuals, empowering individuals. Can be task oriented, relationship oriented or change oriented. Some focus on the skills perspective: i. e. being clever, oratorical skills, being persuasive, intelligence. Leadership is related to power, influence and control in politics. In 1900-1999 there were over 200 definitions of leadership. A process of interaction between individuals in an organization: have to have one or more leaders plus one or more followers, if followers are not willing to accept the articulated vision the leader is weak and ineffective. Leadership cannot be considered in isolation of the goals of their followers. Leadership is a symbiotic transaction between leaders and followers.
