When you physically shift your attention by moving your eyes: covert: eyes remain stationary, shift of minds eye . Posner cueing paradigm: test to assess attention two major cue types are used to analyze attention based on the type of visual input. Endogenous cue: presented in the center of the screen, usually at the same location as the center of focus directional cue pointing to the left or right box on the screen. You have to push your attention over to the other location, you are directing attention as opposed to being directed by a flash. Exogenous cue: presented outside of the center of focus, usually on the right or left box on the screen.
