Week 5 discussion: someone"s personal story within psychology and how it did not pair with psychoanalysis. We tend to not see this behind the scenes work: freud does not gain the amount of credit he deserves as psychology refuted this. How could it have made a huge impact but in psychology it does not matter. For example, the anti-psychiatry movement where it is okay to say that we all have a degree of psychopathology and that anyone can have an issue not just a certain population. Ex: melancholy and melancholies: counselling was mostly about religion in the past but now anyone can do it if they have the proper training. It does not just have to focus on spiritual etc. Why am i here, what is my purpose etc. We see it more as a set of skills we can learn.
