Two theories of defining and explaining crime: objectivist- consensus approach. Assumption that we have right and wrong behaviour. Agree as a consensus that that behaviour was wrong. Believe in the cause, caused by something specific that can be identified, understand the cause and find a solution. Determine a behaviour as a crime and then label it as such. Not everyone gets treated the same, they are interested in power. People with power get to define that label. Through the dynamic of power will determine the outcome of the conviction.
