Anthropology literally translates as the study of man or human. Is a discipline of infinite curiosity about human-beings, of which anthropologist seek answers to the large variety of questions about humans. Anthropologist arguably are more focused on humans and their cultural display. Broad lensed discipline encompassing 4 subdisciplines: biological or physical anthropology, archaeology, socio-cultural anthropology, anthropological linguistics. Anthropologists are concerned explicitly and directly with all varieties of people throughout the world, and they are also interested in people of all time periods. Traditionally, anthropologists were only concentrated on non-western cultures and ignored the study of western civilization and similarly complex societies to other disciplines. What induces anthropologists to choose so broad a subject for study: motivated by the belief that generalizations should be shown to apply to as many times and places as possible. If it doesn"t apply, skepticism should prevail to avoid invalid ideas regarding humans.
