Species that have a lot in common, can also be different. Creating a more informed position for studies. What makes us a unique, individual species vs. other primates. Maintain our own body temperature through metabolic processes. Dogs become more specialized for running, feet has fewer toes, longer legs. Variable locomotion (ex. ball joints & clavicle) Prehensile hands, sometimes feet (can grasp things for better manipulation of objects) Tactile senses on fingers for touch & grasp. Opposable thumb (in opposition to the rest of fingers, to bend it & grab things) Most have an omnivorous diet (plants & meat) All primates have 2 incisors & 1 canine (only variation is in the number of molars) Almost all are diurnal (asleep at night, awake during the day)
