State is an independent political unit with recognized boundaries. A state is not only a place, a bounded territory, it is also an active entity that operates through the rules and regulations of its various institutions. It is a set of institutions and their related personnel. It has a central point where political decisions are made (capital) It has a defined boundary that dictates territorial limits. It is a monopoly of coercive (forcing) power and law-making ability.
