Knowledge: defined relationships between data and concepts, e. g. , >= 140/90 mmhg at rest is hypertension, global rules about the world, normally, formulated from data analysis, contained in a knowledge base, a knowledge model is called ontology. Information: obtained by applying knowledge to data, related to order and novelty. Free-text physician notes are less informative than structured reports.
