A system that works together with the nervous system (neuroendocrine system: maintain homeostasis, both are messaging systems, sending signals around the body. Endocrine system can work alone but can also work together. Whenever the body is out of the control the endocrine system is make it go back to control, like a continuous cycle. In the endocrine system, the glands of the endocrine system play a major role. Glands of the endocrine system are widely scattered throughout the body. E(cid:374)do(cid:272)ri(cid:374)e gla(cid:374)ds are (cid:862)ductless glands(cid:863)- a few endocrine glands are made of neurosecretory tissue. Ductless means they do not have a duct where they are secreted or endocrine glands are also known as ductless glands because their secretions are released directly into the blood, not to any tubes or ducts. Neurosecretion is the storage, synthesis and release of hormones from neurons.
