New marine species fill the oceans, and global diversity recovers again. Global catastrophe causes mesozoic coming to an end; disappearance of dinosaurs marks end of age of reptiles. Late: pangaea is massive, running north to south. Animals on terrestrial environment are the reptiles and they start to diversify. Hot and dry climate, due to the mass supercontinent. Life recovers well into the middle of the period, therapsids and archosaurs. End triassic extinction favors reptiles and terrestrial forms, many amphibians and marine life wiped out. Late: continental plates are starting to move away from each other. Laurasia to the north and gondwana to the south; created coastlines and lush forests (replaced dry deserts) Tropical climates extend to polar regions as well. When oceans are repopulated with fish, they come from freshwater.
