Biopharmaceutics: study of drug delivery and how to improve it. Pharmacovigilance: the detection, assessment, understanding and prevention of adverse effects of any drug-related problems. Pharmaco/ toxico-genetics: how genetic variation affect or relates to differing response to drugs/toxins. Pharmaco / toxico-genomics: how genomic variations effect or relate to differing responses to drugs/ toxins. Pharmaco-economics: compares the value of one pharmaceutical drug or drug therapy to another. Simple diffusion is a way that xenobiotic can get across the membrane. It is driven by a concentration gradient across the membrane (on either side of the membrane). There also is no energy input, or else it is active transport. Lipid soluble substances can move easily across the membrane because they dissolve in lipid solutions: water soluble substances can make it through the membrane through a channel or a pore, depending on its size.
