Document Summary

Clast: detrital piece of rock, usually siliceous. Clastic sedimentary rocks are made of clasts which originate from physical erosion (abrasion). Siliceous (sio2 ) and carbonaceous (caco3 ) sediments may deposit after their precipitation out of seawater. Allochemical rocks are made of material that was formed elsewhere but transported away, and cemented (lithified) into a rock. The first two reasons are directly caused by global temperature changes. Physical disintegration: rocks in direct contact with heat-freeze, water-ice; breakdown, fracture, fragmentation into smaller particles. Chemical alteration: rocks react with natural chemicals; dissolution, oxidation, hydrolysis. In sedimentology, symmetric ripple marks are a feature of sediments (sandstones, limestones, siltstones) and dunes . Sandstone is a clastic sedimentary rock composed mainly of sand-sized minerals or rockgrains. Milankovitch cycles ,eccentricity, obliquity and precession, along with the net solar output, change with time and affect our climate. The earth"s surface is dynamic and can move vertically.
