No terrorist attack of such nature had been carried out. The initial loss of life, and potential loss of life with more planes was incredibly high. Internet has allowed the public to easily and quickly access information about what governments are doing. The media plays an ever-increasing role in the public"s perception of events, policies, and individuals. A narrative is built by the media very quickly and can be extremely difficult to alter once the public embraces the it.
