Myth = religious domain, stories; passed via generations; specific culture. Philosophy: more scientific than anything (origin of all science?) Work of one man/men; critical thinking; view on the world around them (origin of universe/purpose of life). Its like attacking the culture if you attack this (tradition: sophists (method of reasoning = lies) Practical; wanted to apply their knowledge for something in return (24584); interested in politics. Lying = efficient way to be successful in politics. Not good to hang with (immoral = don"t believe in gods). Socrates was considered both of these (np and sophist: natural philosophers (thales?) Challenged the traditional way of explaining things/challenged greeks. Happy to discuss about the world, talk w friends. Impressed w his scientific process (prediction w no items). Predicted eclipse was a warning from the gods, kinda like he was threatening them. Prediction: look @ sky and saw a pattern (sun/moon have courses)
