It may seem that plato and hobbes have ideas that border similar spectrums, but the two meet on grounds that are similar to fire going against water. Their ideas drift on a level of radically opposing views, showing that share different views as philosophers. Plato"s perspective towards humanity takes a positive note, but hobbes drifts towards a more negative route being pessimistic. Many of their differences can raise suggestions on how each perceives human beings and their roles within society. In this paper, i aim to compare both plato and hobbes by using their views of primitive humanity to show their views on human nature. Plato"s work, the republic, delves into the teachings of socrates who wishes to create the image of justice on a scale of a city-state. Socrates" primitive city, which glaucon called the city of pigs .
