Why should we allow reproductive cloning: hubris, yuk, etc: saying cloning is repulsive and gross are highly emotionally charged arguments based on gut reactions and lack moral reasoning or logic. It is exactly like saying all blacks are slaves etc. These moral beliefs are wrong and should be suppressed. Doctors have to cut people up and an initial gut reaction would be to feel disgusted upon hearing that but after having a good understanding of the good intentions of the doctors, it seems reasonable to do that. That is why we need to select our feelings and suppress the bad ones. To those who say cloning is unnatural, we first have to determine what natural really means. 1) anything that occurs in nature is natural 2) anything not affected by human intervention 3) doing something that weakens, undermines, destroys our moral human nature is unnatural. Twins are genetically identical but there is no proof that their existence implies malignant consequences.
