American children and 90% of asian american children were either born outside of the united. Although the ever-increasing contact between cultures as complicated comparisons of the year their psychological processes, it has paved the way for investigating a different series of fascinating psychological questions. Acculturation is the process by which people migrate to and learn a culture that is different from their original or heritage culture. Despite its great importance, the literature on acculturation remains more contradictory, less coherent, and less grounded then that for any other topic in this book, although as you"ll see there are many key points that emerge quite reliably.
