Sensory perception- how long does it take to react to light, sound so touch. How different do 2 lights have to be before 2 people know there is a difference between the lights. Interested in the composition of mental processes. (like atoms of the mind) Speed of the simplest mental process. (like recognition) Introspection- the examination or observation of one"s own mental and emotional processes. Structuralism- uses introspection to reveal the structure of the mind, focused on the basic structural element of conscious, mental experience. It wasn"t reliable for it needs good communication skills, and experiences vary from one person to another so each person would respond differently for the same item. It enables us to consider our past, adjust to our present, and plan our future. Functionalism- he focused on the functions of our thoughts, behaviours and feelings.
