Death means freedom, people are seeking a good death . Death is a part of life, not the end of it. Hindu embraces the realisms of death, white people modify it to make it more digestible. Pilgrims, the curious, the fascinated, the seekers, have all come here where the belief the world began (the centre of the universe) for 25 centuries. In this holy place for hindus, they wash their sins in the sacred river (ganges) which is severely polluted because of the oating dead bodies and ashes. They worship their gods in thousands of temples; teachings of faith. Many come here to die (also called mahasmashana - the great cremation ground) The city of kashi (translates to the city of life ) is considered liberation, freedom forever from the endless cycle of birth, death, and reincarnation. Even in this city where death is everywhere, people respond to it as they do everywhere else.
