Deals with their cognitive and their confirmative, religion has to manifest itself in action as well in thinking (not just an idea) Relative to sacred things (cid:858)things(cid:859) are stuff that we can perceive (they are not-not there), they are things we can feel with our 5 senses, but they have the quality of being sacred. Nothing in themselves is sacred about them, however durkheim has distinguished between sacred and profane (the world is divided this way, into things that are and are not sacred) (cid:858)thi(cid:374)gs(cid:859) (cid:272)a(cid:374) (cid:271)e a(cid:374)(cid:455)thi(cid:374)g! That is to say, things set apart and forbidden. You cannot tell if something is sacred it is not inherit in the thing. Have to treat the thing very specifically, it is special, to mistreat it would be bad.
