Class 1 finish - Osteology - study of modern human remains-skeleton - Palaeonutrition - palaeo (means old) - Palaeopathology - anti-mordum (trauma ect...that a person experiences when they are alive) - bone ect breaks...bone has unique quality to heal itself (grow over fracture) so in anti-modum, there is evidence of healing - post-mordum (changes and trauma ect...taht person experiences when they are dead) - pari-modem (trauma experienced around the time of death) - forensic - examination of skeletal remains in a court of Law mass disasters eg. plane crash-many body parts, nothing whole, - use dental remains - applied anthropology - uses all anthropological principals Class 2 Notes Biology and evolution - origin myths - all cultures have origin myths- so every human has an explanation for their origin - all cultures compare humans and animals...and humans are placed as the superior model - fixity of the species
