Occupational therapy: used to re-learn daily tasks, e. g. brushing your teeth or getting dressed. Speech therapy: a person may need help learning to talk again or how to use augmentative communication devices: community reintegration: group home or independent living. Frontal brain injuries often lead to a lack of impulse control (e. g. the person with the injury may no longer be aware of what activities are appropriate which may lead them to cause a scene in public) Options involve: sedation in an institution or using aba= applied behavioral analysis along with drugs. Aba is seen as some what controversial because some say it is based on: bribery and intimidation? (not sure how this relates though) y. Old stereotype: says gifted children are weak, have poor social skills, narrow in interest and emotionally unstable. New stereotype: gifted children are superior in every way (high intelligence, physical abilities, good social skills, attractive, ect)
