Document Summary

The contemporary world is shaped by religions, ex war on terror, clinic killings (abortion) Hardly a day goes by when there is not some manifestation of religion (religious identity, religious practice, religious con ict) reported on the. Tv or in newspapers. we need to recognise that in this contemporary world, religion does count. Religion and religions have an impact in both small and signi cant ways on the world today. Religion very often impacts on all levels of life, at both the individual and social level. It is for this reason that we can talk about religion and culture. In many ways we can regard both of these as separate and distinct, but they also overlap and have an impact on each other. The culture in which a person lives is strongly in uenced by the predominant religion (or religions) of their society. Religion is integral to other aspects of cultural activity.
