Francis Galton  morphology, classification, inheritance and human variation 5. three different patterns: o Whorl: at least 2 triradii  3 types: peacock eyes/ concentric/ spiral o Loop: at least 1 triradii start and exit out on the same side ulnar loop: the loop opening is toward ulnar bone (pinky)/ radial loop: the loop opening is toward radial bone (thumb bone) o Arch : no triradii  start in one side and exist on the other side  simple arch / tented arch (rise up further, sharper)  no ridge-count 6. total ridge count
