The logistic equation can be modified to include a time lag (τ):

Geometric and exponential growth curves overlap because the

equations are similar in form. λ can be calculated from r, and

vice versa.

Whenever R0 > 1, λ will also be > 1 (r > 0), so the

population increases in size.

N = population density

r = per capita growth rate

K = carrying capacity
