Intergroup relations the way groups interact with each other, how they think about each others. The focus is now on groups: when you identify with a group, your sense of self gets connected to being a member of the group. The social identity happens because they are part of a group. You would choose areas that enable you to win: this is the same situation that occurs when western countries begin to compare themselves to other countries. We choose to have good education, technology, etc. We feel good about ourselves when we compare what we have against other cultures. U change society, so that your group would be equal or above the other groups. Collective action: when an individual is doing something to improve their own situation, but not only their own the situation but the situation of the whole group.
