Document Summary
Lecture 1: looking at where dna processes take place in the cell. There s a lot of organization in the cell. Lysosomes: help digest material that taken into the cell, and of organelles no longer functional. It is a cellular compartment that is animal specific. Extracellular matrix: tissues support, mainly in animal cells no plants. Vacuole: 1/3 of cellular volume and is fluid filled. It provides turgor pressure to help hold the plant up: they also digest similar to the lysosome. Cell wall structure not found in animal plants. Cytoplasm: contents of cell outside the cell nucleolus, so the organelles. Cytoskeleton: membrane bound parts solubilized protein structure. Lumen: inside of the organelle, aqueous environment is different for different organelles. Membranes allow different process to occur in different parts of the cell. Scaffold for bio chemical activities: electron transport occurring in mitochondria. This needs lots of protein and generates atp. Specialized proteins that allow cells to respond to outside.
