This section will be worth 70% of the exam and you will be asked to write about 10 of the concepts / terms that we will select from the list below. The apparent compression of time and geographic space by faster means of transport and communication technologies. Suggests that time is accelerated in such a way that geographic space seems to have shrunk. Highlights a relational rather than absolute conception of space. Compression is also a lot more complicated on the ground. We see time as accelerated as space is shrunk. The york university station to st george - realistically should be quicker to get to and from these stations but the distance is the same.
