Gums, ambers, & waxes attracts leaf while glass tubes & rock crystals repelled it. Found electrified glass repelled electrified glass but attracted electrified amber. Thus, glass-yielded charge=vitreous electricity & gum-yielded charge=resinous. Positive (vitreous) and negative (resinous: proposed conductor and non-conductor. Leyden jar as a model of the organism.
