POL101 Exam Jam 4/8/2013 1:02:00 PM Exam Review - MC  assumed you did readings, and come to lecture  no nit picky, factual things (if it is, it is linked to theory or something really important)  no stumping Q’s  test knowledge on more conceptual things  key arguments of readings, lecture notes  NOT lets go deep, easy generated Q’s from top of their head (overarching concepts, q’s)  CONCEPTUAL, little factual q’s that aren’t so detailed - Essay  Entire year material  Break down course, take step back (genealogy of political science, no disparate theories or concepts, everything is linked together) –  Ex. can’t understand dependency theory w/o other theories  Ex. learned about state, that’s basis of realist IR theory, which is like about power transition theory, beyond nation state, lecture of EU which you cant understand without understand the earlier concepts  Ex. can’t understand List without Hamilton, Smith, List  EVERYTHING IS LINKED  Want ARUGMENT, not mental dumping of everything you know  Construct argument, map out essay MAKE A QUICK OUTLINE  Blend both the EMPERICAL AND THEORETICAL – broad concepts
