Where something or some place is found: absolute location: latitude/ longitude. Physical distance: relative location: hierarchy of places and the relative speed it takes to get somewhere. This location changes because types of transportation have improved (we went from walking to driving to flying). Relatively, places get closer, but they"re absolutely the same. How people think or feel about a place and the symbols behind it. Level of analysis of a process or place, or level in a hierarchy of places. Ex: windsor is a place in the region of southwestern ontario. People aren"t static and it tends to produce dramatic changes that cause clashes. Patterns of resource use, where things are that we need to make stuff and live. The burdens of poor environmental quality fall on minority regions because they don"t have a voice of where harmful factories go. Some places are more susceptible to disasters depending on how the government handles the emergency.
