Review: culture is human nature, human behaviour is pattern and are socially transmitted -> learned. Implicit learning: explicit learning, no simple definition for culture, cultural relativism. Immersive: being there, doing alongside, living with others, learning the language and the culture, trust and good rapport, relations of respect and reciprocity. Intimacy: sharing lives with people, deep/thick knowledge, cultural and historical context, experience is key, learn a language by speaking it, learn to play guitar by playing it, learn a culture by doing it. Participant observation: talking to people, build relationships, reciprocity, trust, doing along side people, understand what they are up to, to observe them by interacting with them and over extended period, goal/accomplishes. Insider"s perspective or pov: subjective experience of other people, meaning and values that guide people"s actions, categories and concepts that give rise to behaviours and attitudes, to make sense of how other"s make sense of the world.
