Document Summary

Travel vs tourism: both tourists and travelers are on a journey. But the experience and destination are very different between the two. A tourist is someone who is visiting only the most popular places where other tourists will be. By contrast, a traveler is someone who is less directed in the way they travel. Towards the beginning of the documentary, a german man mentions how these people in the community aren"t living, but they are vegetating. This man seems to think that westernized norms such as worrying about tomorrow is the right way to live, while people living in primitive communities are seen to him as living the wrong way. This is how globalization creates false ideas of the right and wrong way to live. What tourists lack to understand, is that even though they are travelling to someone"s community, it does not mean they are supporting them.
