Staples thesis canadian economy was developed due to the staples. Staples theory canadian economy was built on staples but this brought along with it some problems. There was a lot of foreign money being brought into the country and this left room for volatility. Conflict between region staple was being produced and the country. They expanded into other parts of the world to bring in more money to fund their armies. Europeans some had great wealth and wanted to expand into out parts of the world. Fisheries were established to harvest essential oils form marine mammals but most importantly cod was the key. Wet was where live fish were transported back to europe packed between large amounts of salt. Dry, the fish was salted and cured on land at the place of fishing this promoted settlement.
