A snowball is like a revolution because a revolution is not easy and once it starts rolling it is hard to stop, the role of philosophical ideas in the french revolution was to spread ideas and inspire revolution. Beaumarchais was one of the playwrights who spread these ideas: art by producing propaganda. They expressed ideas behind their classic paintings, which were relevant to the times. The setting and costumes added on to classical paintings to add deeper meaning: fashion by men cutting their hair like roman style. Some woman wore more revealing clothes returning to roman fashion. No longer were absurd fashion trends in use e. g. giant powdered wigs: the economic problems france faced leading up to the revolution was the cost of war. Borrowing paid off wars and most income went to interest. The burden of new taxes fell upon the poorest people.
