This violence takes different forms including sexual abuse, sexual assault, rape, incest, childhood sexual abuse and rape during armed conflict. It also includes sexual harassment, stalking, indecent or sexualized exposure, degrading sexual imagery, voyeurism, cyber harassment, trafficking and sexual exploitation. The largest group at risk are women who experience 85% of sexual assaults. Finally, this report stated that 80% of victims knew their assailant versus the 20% who were assaulted by strangers. Sexual violence is quite a problem on canadian post-secondary campuses. One in five women experience sexual assault while attending a post-secondary institution . Many on-campus sexual assaults occur during the first eight weeks of classes . 80 per cent of rapes that occur on college and university campuses are committed by someone known to the victim, with half of these incidents occurring on dates .
