Kinpower is a social venture that will focus on the mental well being of university students at wilfrid laurier university by offering affordable massages during final exam weeks. During this time, kinpower will set-up booths across campus that will feature several traditional massage chairs (refer to appendix a) and laurier kinesiology students providing stress- relieving massages. Our service will have a small fee of three to five dollars along with program- specific recognition or compensation for the student volunteers. This fee will first be used to cover operating costs such as massage chair expenses, sanitation supplies, marketing, and student training. Remaining funds will then be donated to support organizations such as the anxiety. The program-specific compensation can be bonus marks, a special certificate, or any other form of recognition the kinesiology department may decide on.
