Determine the underlying abilities that are important for the successful performance of a specific skill. An individual can have abilities but not be skilled (true) / an individual can be skilled without ability (false) We all have different abilities that enhance or limit our capacity to become skilled at a particular task. There"s no guarantee that we will become skillful; we have only potential to be skilled. Practice and experiences help us realize that potential. Children should have many different developmentally appropriate movement experiences. Process by which meaning is attached to sensory information. 1: ecological approach / dynamic systems approach. Two approaches for explaining the nature of perception: Input decision making execution feedback. Action possibilities of the environment/task in relation to the perceiver"s capabilities. Perception of the environment/task in terms of the actions the perceiver can potentially exert on it. Views the relationship between perception and action as circular. Direct relationships exist between perception and action.
