KP221 Quiz: KP221 Lab 02 - Shoulder
Document Summary
The upper extremity is characterized by its mobility and the ability of the hand to grasp and manipulate. The regions of the upper extremity include the shoulder (acromial), the arm (brachial), the forearm (antebrachial), the wrist (carpal) and the hand (manual). The hand terminates in five digits (numbered one through five from lateral to medial): the brachial plexus and major spinal nerves and the upper extremity. The brachial plexus is formed by the ventral rami of c5 through t1 spinal nerves, and it innervates the upper extremity. 5 terminal nerves or branches (musculocutaneous, median, ulnar, radial, axillary) Examine the brachial plexus model and schematic in your atlas to determine where each nerve comes off of the brachial plexus. This will become important when you are determining muscle innervation. C. formation of brachial plexus. (page 429, figure 6. 24, This week are focusing on major blood vessels in the upper extremity.
